Computer Services New Jersey (CSNJ) is an IT company in Holmdel, Monmouth County, supporting dental practices across New Jersey and New York City. We support Dentrix and Eaglesoft, the imaging that connects to them, and the chairside workstations and network a practice runs on, with backups that include X-rays. Support requests are answered in 30 minutes or less.
Practice software: Dentrix and Eaglesoft
Dentrix and Eaglesoft, the two practice-management systems we support, sit at the center of a dental office: the schedule, the chart, the billing and the imaging all hang from them. Updates, database maintenance and a failed workstation each affect the whole day, so we handle them outside clinic hours where we can and keep the server and the software versions in step.
Imaging: sensors, cameras, pano and CBCT
Digital sensors, intraoral cameras, panoramic units and CBCT scanners each connect to the practice software in their own way, through a bridge, a driver or a shared folder. When imaging stops talking to the software, the chair is stuck. We trace where the connection broke, whether in the driver, the network, the permissions or the update, and fix it with your imaging vendor rather than leaving you in between.
Chairside workstations, the network and patient Wi-Fi
Each operatory needs a workstation that starts quickly and stays up, and a network that reaches every room without dropping. Patient Wi-Fi should be kept on a separate network from the clinical systems, so a patient’s phone never shares a network with the chart or the imaging server.
Backups that include imaging
Many practices back up only the database and find out later that the X-rays were not included. We set up the backup to cover the database and the imaging files, keep older versions and test the restore, so a failed server does not erase a patient’s history.
New practices and moves
A new practice or a move needs the network planned before the walls close: cable runs to each operatory, the server room, the phones and the cameras. See our network cabling service for the cabling side.
HIPAA, the dental-specific part
A dental practice holds electronic patient information on chairside PCs and in the imaging system, and it needs a business associate agreement with any vendor, including IT, that can reach that information. IT support alone does not make a practice HIPAA compliant: that also needs your policies, training and risk assessment. For the general HIPAA picture, see our medical practices page, and confirm what applies to you with your compliance advisor.
Where this fits with our other services
This page covers what is different for dental practices. For the services behind it, see our managed IT services, cloud backup and network cabling.

Frequently asked questions
Do you support Dentrix and Eaglesoft?
Yes. Both are listed on our Industries We Serve page, and we handle updates, server and workstation issues and the connection to your imaging.
Can you help when imaging stops talking to the software?
Yes. We trace whether the break is in the driver, the network, the permissions or a recent update, and work with your imaging vendor to fix it.
How should a dental office back up X-rays?
The backup has to include the imaging files as well as the practice database, keep older versions and be tested by restoring. We set that up and check it.
Can you set up IT for a new practice?
Yes. We plan the network, server, workstations, phones and cameras with you before the walls close, and we can handle the cabling.
Does IT support make us HIPAA compliant?
No. IT support puts the technical safeguards in place, but compliance also needs your policies, training and risk assessment. Your compliance advisor confirms what applies to you.
